Alex Andriesse is a writer, translator, and editor.

 

His prose and poems have appeared in Granta, The Millions, Prodigal, 3:AM Magazine, and The Review of Contemporary Fiction.

 

His translations include Roberto Bazlen's Notes Without a Text, François-René de Chateaubriand's Memoirs from Beyond the Grave, Marcel Schwob's Spicilege (forthcoming from Wakefield Press), Paul Lafargue's The Right to Be Lazy and Other Writings, and Cristina Campo's The Unforgivable and Other Writings (forthcoming from NYRB Classics).

In addition to overseeing several issues of The Review of Contemporary Fiction, including numbers dedicated to the work of Roberto Calasso, Kathryn Davis, and Markus Werner, he edited Best European Fiction 2018–2019 and The Uncollected Essays of Elizabeth Hardwick. He is associate editor at New York Review Books.
