Alex Andriesse is a writer, translator, and editor.

 

His prose and poems have appeared in Granta, The Millions, Prodigal, 3:AM Magazine, and The Review of Contemporary Fiction.

 

His translations include Roberto Bazlen's Notes Without a Text (Dalkey Archive Press), François-René de Chateaubriand's Memoirs from Beyond the Grave (NYRB Classics), Marcel Schwob's Spicilege (forthcoming from Wakefield Press), Paul Lafargue's The Right to Be Lazy and Other Writings, and Cristina Campo's The Unforgivable and Other Writings (forthcoming).

In addition to editing several issues of The Review of Contemporary Fiction, including numbers dedicated to the work of Roberto Calasso, Kathryn Davis, and Markus Werner, he is the editor of Best European Fiction 2018–2019 (Dalkey Archive Press) and The Uncollected Essays of Elizabeth Hardwick (NYRB Classics).
